When it comes to creating sacred spaces,
there's one person that comes to mind, my friend Erin,
the Creative Director

We often refer to our homes as our sanctuaries, but in the true meaning of the word, is your home really your retreat from the world? Does it create a calming space for relaxation and rest? Is it clean, organized, and a place that allows you to flourish in all ways? Or is it a space where you want these things, but think it is something for “later” and later never comes?
Creating a home that is your sacred space of calm and serenity in even the most difficult of times isn’t something to dream about. As an artist and interior designer, I’ve spent a lifetime building spaces that transform lives and I’m happy to share a little insight with you on how you can do this on any budget using what I call the PEACE method. Give your home the same selfcare you give yourself… and if you aren’t giving yourself selfcare, that’s an entirely different and highly necessary conversation.
If you still feel overwhelmed and would like professional guidance, I can help you. Follow me on Instagram at @three_little_lions_store or Facebook at @ThreeLittleLionsStore or email me at erin.isabella@icloud.com to book a free consultation.

P: Place
Place objects with deliberate intention. Sometimes we buy a piece of furniture or decorative object with no defined placement in our home or worse, put it in a closet or storage unit and forget about it. Flip the script. Define what you are shopping for and where it will go in advance. This way you avoid unnecessary clutter and making purchases you don’t need.
E: Explore
Explore your style. Magazines can be great inspiration, but is that room decor really you? You can take the inspiration of a minimalist space but if you aren’t a minimalist at heart, your home will not reflect you—and it should. Be adventurous but know yourself and decorate for who you are, not who everyone else says you should be.
A: Attune
Be attuned to how your space is laid out and the affect it has on how your home feels overall. If you want a space that welcomes you with calmness, there cannot be a pile of coats, bags, and shoes at your entry point. Energy distribution is vital to a well-functioning space so arrange and organize that entryway that makes storage easy and instant.
C: Create
Identify the need and create the solution. In other words, you must focus on designing the home that works for you one space at time. Create storage systems that meets your needs and don’t let clutter pile up. Buy the best you can afford and upcycle when an item no longer serves your needs. Don’t be afraid to brighten up a space with colour whether you rent or own your home using paint or removable wallpaper.
E: Edit
Be alert for ways to edit your home because as you grow and change, so will your home. Look for opportunities to freshen a space in simple ways. An old couch has new life with a new cover or a throw. Throw out old candles and replace with new ones regularly. Buy some new mirrors and place them around your home to bounce light throughout the space.
Armed with Erin's PEACE Method, I hope you can tackle carving out sacred spaces in your home to more easily promote a peaceful & recharging energy in your space!
I hope that her wisdom helps you tackle this area of your self-care
as we enter the season of "Spring Cleaning"!
