7 Steps In 7 Days

I want to give you some easy ideas to

Begin practicing the 7 Step Method in just 7 days!

If you aren't already familiar with my 7 Step Method to Fill Your Cup First, then check out the blog post that I wrote at the very beginning of 2021 HERE to get comfortable with the method.

If you're already familiar with my 7 Step Method, then keep on reading for super simple ways to begin implementing the 7 Step Method in just 7 days!

With Mother's Day Coming Up, NOW is a perfect time to do something extra to fill your cup, and maybe even include mom in the fun too! As a gift I'm introducing this reoccurring blog series, "7 Steps in 7 Days" to offer seasonal solutions for weaving the 7 Step Method into your weeks with more ease. In celebration of Mother's Day, I've put together a week's worth of little ways for you to practice some bonus self-care this month as spring settles in. Whether you practice them all in one week, spread them out from now until Mother's Day, or only practice one or two over the course of the month, these ideas can help you fill your cup first this May! I hope you enjoy!

Filling Your Cup First

one day at a time.

Seven steps in seven days.

It just makes sense to me.

As I was creating, developing, and fine-tuning my 7-step method to fill my own cup first, it quickly became apparent to me that it was perfectly aligned to 7 days in a week. After launching the brand and beginning my first iteration of the Coffeetalk Newsletter, I created a monthly column sharing how you could challenge yourself through the week and accomplish something for each step in a single week using the 7 Step in 7 Day practice. It was so fun, I decided to turn this into a monthly blog to share. It'll post the first week of each month.

Sunday: Back to the Basics

A new take on the "Sunday Soak". Normally when one thinks of a soak, they are picturing a tub. That is a great way to get Back to the Basics for sure. This month's soak takes you out of the bathroom though, and into the kitchen! Spring is a great time to start to bring more fresh produce into your diet! This month I challenge you to stock up on some produce then give them a good soak to clean them, aiding in ease of consumption, adding a bright and fresh touch to your meals!

Monday: Step-Up the Game

Start the day with intention by taking a "Monday Mindfulness Moment". I'm big on morning rituals, and this is a great place to start practicing mindfulness as a beginner. Being mindful of the first choices we make after waking is an incredibly valuable way to start your day and take ownership over its trajectory. Practice a 15-minute morning ritual that targets a 5-minute activity for your mind, a 5-minute activity to wake up your body & a 5-minute activity to set your Spirit off in a positive direction as you head into your day.

Tuesday: Do Something Little for You

Tuesday is "Treat Yourself Tuesday"! It's the time of the week where I give you permission to spoil yourself just a little bit, for taking time intentionally every day to improve your care. With the warmer sunny days of spring upon us it has me thinking about all of the yummy treats that can be made with lemons; lemonade, iced lemon cake, lemon bars, lemon poppyseed muffins, lemon dressed citrus fruit salad, lemon vinegarette salad dressings, baked fish with roasted lemon slices. So, this month I want you to treat yourself to a lemon inspired treat... savory or sweet. Because sometimes life gives you lemons, and they can be turned into tasty treats. You deserve a little treat for treating yourself right!

So, not terribly overwhelming to apply to your week so far, right?

The second half of the week is when things start to get real fun!

Wednesday: Get a Hobby

Nest is "Wednesday Workshop" and we're getting out in nature with a camera. Pick up your phone or preferred camera and get exploring! Find some signs of nature springing to life and get creative with your camera. You might even capture a background worthy picture to update your home screen with this spring! Add an inspirational quote and, wah- la!

Thursday: Get Your A$$ Moving

As Spring brings warmer days, I want this to inspire a "Thick Thighs Thursday" challenge! Get out the exercise or yoga mat and find some comfortable, yet clingy workout clothes so you can head to your backyard or local park for a spring yoga session! You know your skill level, but whether beginner or pro, get your blood pumping with a little yoga in the sun!

Friday: Dream Big

The weekend is here and that means that it's "Friday Funday"! Head into the weekend daydreaming about how you can clean up your self-care as spring keeps appearing! Don't wait another season to clean up your self-care practices, habits and rituals! You deserve to thrive in this life, not simply survive it!

Saturday: Rest, Reflect, Reevaluate, & Restart

Celebrate "Self-Care Saturday" by reflecting, relaxing & recharging yourself Darling! I hope 2024 is off to an incredible start! I also hope that you have truly begun to prioritize you more! How can you continually do this in even more specific ways throughout 2024!

If you haven't yet signed-up to get on the Dazzling District mailing list to receive the monthly newsletter and other occasional communications, do so using THIS LINK. Don't wait, you'll be disappointed you did! This year the mailing list is going to start receiving more regular communications again! Finally, thank you so much for being patient with me through the creating, defining, and building of this company, and for showing back up for me here with every new blog post! The entire foundation of the Dazzling District brand & company mission is built on the need for solid and personalized self-care, designed to care for your mind, body, and spirit uniquely. For you and created by you, with the help of some tips, methods & best practices. Shortly after I launched the website and blog, I wrote a 2-part Spring Cleaning Blog Series focused on detoxing your Mind and Body (if you haven't already read them use those links to do so ). D etoxing your Spirit is necessary to personal healing and growth too. It may be the most important of the three to focus on, however it is often the most difficult to do. It requires confronting ourselves with a level of vulnerability that many of us were never taught or demonstrated as children. This makes being capable and comfortable enough to do so, challenging and ultimately a little scary too. But it's necessary to prioritize your soul health, it's just as important as your gut health, your oral health or your heart health. Confronting our own spiritual toxins and roadblocks takes a real warrior soul, one that I know lives inside your heart. If you have already read and begun to implement the other 2 blogs in my Spring-Cleaning Series, then you have already begun to "Detox Your Spirit" (use the links posted above if you haven't yet read them) . By detoxing your mind, you have hopefully begun removing some of the things that negatively impact your spirit. By removing toxins from your mind by way of unhealthy technology patterns, viewing choices, listening choices, and other things you introduce to your mental health that influence your self-talk, you will begin the journey by clearing space for peace and reflection. These two things will begin the snowball effect that is necessary to achieving a true spiritual cleansing. Once you "Clean Your Mind " and move on to "Detox Your Body" then you have already continued your journey to "Detox Your Spirit" by allowing your mental health to continue improving while beginning the balancing of your gut health. By completing these other detoxes ahead of time you set the stage for a truly empowering spiritual cleansing. Which order you choose to attack them in however, is yours to decide. If you feel more limited in your mind as a result of a desperate need for a mental reboot, then begin by cleaning your mind. If you feel that the state of your body and physical endurance is where you are being most limited in personal growth, then begin by detoxing your body. This journey is yours to take, so I strongly encourage you listen to your heart to determine where to begin it and then check out the other blogs on those topics to do so. If starting right here, with your spirit is where you feel most called to begin, then I hope you do so, keeping these things in mind. Where you go to begin to "Detox Your Spirit" once you are ready, is a little harder to break down into an action plan because, it must be the most self-guided and vulnerable part of your Mind-Body-Spirit Spring Cleaning Journey in order to achieve an authentic spiritual cleansing. Below I offer you a few of the means that I personally prefer to practice in obtaining a clean spirit. I am by no means an expert in knowledge of, or devout in practicing many of these methods, as I am still actively working on improving & healing myself, walking in my own spiritual journey. This is the main reason that it's taken me nearly 3 years to get this blog to a place I was ready to share it. I've spent years finding the practices that worked for me and exploring all these different ways for myself. I encourage you to explore these ideas in your own life as you see fitting to an authentic spiritual cleansing for yourself. If other practices feel aligned for you, then those are the practices you should be exploring. The goal is an authentic cleansing for your spirit.

Ohio stepped into a new greener era as 2023 came to a close

It's been a crazy year, in this uncertain and ever-changing world. No matter where you are reading this from. In such uncertain times it's easy to begin to feel frazzled. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed if this is how you are feeling as we near the end of this year Darling. The end of this year is upon us, and you may be ready to already see 2023 as a thing of the past, but there's still time to close out this year on a more dazzling front. We are only weeks away from ending 2023 and ringing in a brand-new year, now wouldn't it be nice to do so feeling more dazzling than before Darling? The first thing you have to do is acknowledge the frazzled feelings. Pretending they aren't bubbling under the surface won't help anybody.
