We are almost through our
"7 Steps to Finding Your Dazzling"
blog series, based on the methods I created as I personalized my own self-care and found my Dazzling again. This blog is our shortest blog in this series, based on
Step #6 - Dream BIG. This step is one of the hardest steps though, if not THE hardest of all 7 Steps, that's why we kept the blog short & sweet. The reason this step is so hard is because, this step requires that you dream while awake. Dreaming while you are sleeping is easy. Dreaming while you're awake is a different story.
Dreaming while you are asleep packs no expectation, zero logic or realistic understanding. Sleeping dreams are dreams without any anticipation of them coming to be reality. Here in lies the difference. If you believe in dream interpreting, they may pack lessons or warnings, but for the most part they are forgotten as soon as you wake and you go on with your literal existence. Unlike dreaming while awake. Once you let yourself begin to dream with your eyes open, the reality of what it takes to achieve the dream for real, often times just becomes a red stop light in your brain. For many that stoplight never changes to green because the overwhelming feelings of impossibility take over. What they don't do is just disappear though. Once you let a daydream into your mind, it becomes like an earworm. It will make it's way around your brain, looking for an avenue to bring it to fruition, or in the minds of some, it will navigate into all the worse case scenario routes within your mind before turning your creative brain to stone. Paralyzing it with doubt & disappointment until it eventually just freezes entirely, never to dream again.
This is why, for most, we were all so much more creative and willing to daydream when we were children, our childlike view of the world made all the things seem possible. As we become adults though, we are introduced to Logic and Reason, they are the enemies of Dreams & Faith. As more of our adult life becomes rooted in tasks that require Logic & Reason, the more we forget to pull Dreams & Faith
out of our "Tool-Box for the Mind". The more easily we become reliant on Logic & Reason, the more dusty those unused tools become, and in turn, the more Logic & Reason
settle into the steering position, and run your mind. Often times they run you into a completely robotic and uninspired existence, without the use of Dreams & Faith
ever being awoken. THIS is why
Step #6 - Dream BIG
is the hardest step, but truly one of the brightest, most inspiring steps in your entire "Personalized Self-Care Routine" journey when implemented properly & regularly. This step requires us to dream without borders or limits. We must really take chances on ourselves and open ourselves up to disappointment and doubt in this step. That can be scary and oh so exciting at the same time. If we want BIG rewards in our self-care and in our life in general, we have to be willing to dust off the unused tools in the "Tool-Box for the Mind"
and put them back into use AND we have to put Logic & Reason
back into the toolbox on a regular basis. Now go get yourself a notebook or a journal or a sketch book & ask yourself this question....
"If
Failure
wasn't an option and
Money
didn't matter,
WHAT
would you be doing tomorrow?"
Now go spend this last weekend in the month of Love showing your Future Self
a little love and put on paper what your answer to this question is. Don't be scared. Don't feel silly or childlike. Just do the thing, take the step, be brave. Go Dream BIG!
